Security and privacy modifications
UAB eLearning is making some privacy and security changes to Zoom starting in April 2020. Zoom previously did not support end to end encryption. However, a white paper has made this possible. It also offers more options in security. If you're wondering how the changes will affect your Zoom meetings, read on. UAB's privacy and security changes can help make sure your meetings are secure.
You should read the security settings for Zoom meetings in order to prevent unauthorized participants. Choose the one that best suits your needs. Zoom security settings prevent users from "ZoomBombing", which can be a threat to privacy and security. University of Alabama System office have taken steps for security to their Zoom accounts. These include turning off screensharing except for host, "allow removed participant to join", and file sharing.

How to create a waiting space
UAB allows users to create a waiting room. This is an easy process that lets them share information with others. A logo and a title can be added to the screen. These can also be added to the screen with the erase and pencil buttons. Once the screen has been created, it is possible to begin to describe the waiting space. You can only describe the waiting room in 400 characters
Register with UAB Zoom to create a waiting-room in your meeting. First, sign up for Single Sign on to log in with your myBama credentials. This option is mandatory from December 22, 2021. This process could take up five minutes and require a password. You can find more information at the Center for Instructional Technology's webinars and resources.

Creating polling questions
You can create a CSV and import the desired number of questions to create a poll on UAB Zoom Us. This poll can be edited and/or removed. The report will contain the results. You can also download all poll reports, which will display the answers for every participant. You can enable this feature by contacting Zoom Technical Support. Once you have created your polling questions, it is possible to launch them in a meeting.
You can also opt to allow polling at all your meetings. These will appear in the Polls/Quizzes Tab. You can then select Polling > Advanced. The poll will display the Type, Name, Question(s), and Enable information. The poll results can be viewed in Microsoft Excel once they have been enabled. You can also allow polling in multiple meetings. This allows each meeting to have a poll.
FAQ
What are the main types of elearning? What are their purpose?
There are three main types of e-learning.
-
Content delivery – This type of elearning is designed to give students information. Examples include textbooks and lesson plans.
-
Instructional Design - This type is an e-learning that helps learners learn new skills. Examples include tutorials or simulations.
-
Learning management: This type of online learning allows instructors to plan and manage student activities. You can use discussion forums or virtual classrooms as examples.
What is the Internet connection required for eLearning.
It depends on the type of activity you wish to pursue. There is no need to connect to the internet if you're just taking an online class. However, access to the internet is necessary if you intend to use interactive features such as quizzes or any other type of interactive feature.
What should an eLearning course look and feel like?
Your eLearning course design should encourage learners to interact with the material.
This means that the design needs to be easy to navigate, and the content needs to be presented clearly.
It also means that the content must be interesting and compelling.
To ensure that your eLearning course meets these requirements, you need to focus on three things:
Content
First, you must decide what content will be included in your eLearning courses. In addition to the content itself, you also need to decide how long each section of the course should be. You will decide how much time each topic should be covered if you're teaching someone how write letters.
Navigation
You must also decide how your learners will navigate your course. Do you want your learners to navigate through the course one page at a time? Or do they want to be able to jump straight to the relevant sections?
Design
You must decide how you want the course to look. This includes deciding how long each screen is going to take to load and how large the font size should be. Also, you will need to decide if graphics are desired (e.g. pictures).
Once you've made all the decisions, you can test your course and see if it works.
What systems are used to teach e-learning courses?
E-learning is an online learning system where students learn from a computer screen. It allows for interactive activities such quizzes or tests, as well as discussions.
E-learning also includes web programs that provide access to online information through a computer. This program is also known as "online learning".
What is the biggest obstacle to online learning?
The greatest challenge is keeping students engaged during the course. It is difficult to keep students interested in the lessons you teach. How can they expect to learn anything else? It is important to offer your students many options to help them stay focused. You should give them the option to choose which modules to study, which chapters to read, what exercises to do, which tests to take, which assignments to work on, which projects to complete, which websites to visit, which videos to watch, and which games to play.
